Keywords: less ghostscript FAQ Message-ID: <84265@ut-emx.uucp> Date: 24 Nov 92 12:27:58 GMT Sender: news@ut-emx.uucp Organization: The University of Texas at Austin, Austin TX Lines: 20 1. This is probably a FAQ, but why won't "less" compile? It claims the funcs "_re_comp" and "_re_exec" weren't found. I couldn't find them in anyy library. The defines.h comes with these regexp matchers chosen; shouldn't it compile? After all, it came with the etc01 distribution. 2. Does ghostscript require X windows? 3. Is there HP LJ II support? 4. If the wangtek drives work, shouldn't other SCSI drives work? And the last one is an aesthetic question: 5. What are the relative advantages of setting up the binaries in different ways? Ex: The source/compiled bins are in /usr/othersrc/*/program/program. a. Move the bins to /usr/{local,foreign,other}/bin b. Copy the bins to ^^. c. Make hard links (this becomes same as "a" or "b" if the othersrc dirs are later moved to another partition or removed completely) d. Make symlinks (this doesn't change if they move partitions, but doesn't work if they are later removed or change filenames). -- Protect our endangered bandwidth - reply by email. NO BIG SIGS!
