That kind of statement is usually meant with humor, but not necessarily being disrespectful of the party that he is speaking to. I did not take it as such, but I can understand your interpretation. It is *very* difficult to express humor or light heartedness without sometimes being misunderstood. I really think that he simply meant by saying what he said, that FreeBSD contains lots of stuff.
