Sorry, but as i wrote you already in a private mail, WC's tech support
is certainly wrong at this.  (I won't blame them, they don't sit that
deep in the OS design as the developers of the system.)

It's likely that you won't be able to successfully install FreeBSD on
the disk in the way it is currently partitioned (or that it won't boot
off the hard disk later), but by all means, it must not hang at boot
time.

I still suspect a problem with the ATAPI CD drive.
