If you set postingAgent to use the inews program that comes with inn-1.4 (something that you have to do in order to lose the "too much quoted text" errors that the port of knews produces), inews (-h) fails to parse the passed headers, as the blank line between the header and body contains a "\r" ! How interresting ! Perhaps this is why knews postings screw up their threading too ! Maybe the other header lines are getting mangled because of this. I've set up my external inews program with the following, we'll see if it helps ! #! /bin/sh sed 's/^M$//' | /usr/local/news/bin/inews "$@" (note, the ^M is a *real* ctrl-m, not the fake that I've written) -- Brian <brian@awfulhak.demon.co.uk> <http://www.awfulhak.demon.co.uk/> Don't _EVER_ lose your sense of humour.... .
