Any suggestions, as I would like to keep freebsd, but i > dont like having to install from dos partition, and want the > availability of my cdrom drive. > > mailto:icewolf@dimensional.com I also had problems installing from a atapi cdrom. My problem was a cheap 2X cdrom. My solution was to buy a new cdrom (they're fairly inexpensive now). I bought a Sony CDU311 8X EIDE cdrom (purchased 10/14/96 for $105.00 + Uncle Sam) and was able to install FBSD 2.1.5 from the Walnut Creek CDROM. Another solution is to call the tech support line at 510-603-1234 (I think the hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific time, but don't quote me on that). Good luck. Burton Sampley
