The CD is ISO9660 + RockRidge extensions. It should just work fine in
any drive. AFAIK the RockRidge stuff is all done in software and is
essentially a hack to use normal filenames in the stupid ISO 8.3
format.
mcd0 refers to a CDROM on a Mitsumi(?) proprietary interface. Nothing
at all to do with ATAPI. The 'timeout getting status' generally means
you don't have a Mitsumi i/f in your system.
How is your CDROM connected? ie, which controller, master or slave,
what else is on the same controller?
