The hawks might not be seeking fast enough for you. Cudas
aren't that much more so I've always felt it was cheap
insurance to get them rather than the hawks.

:)48 MB RAM

This is probably your biggest single problem.

:): 512k L2 pipeline burst cache

:)not sure if the cache is this sizee,I think so

It's probably 128k or 256k.

:): DEC FDDI connection to 100mbit local lan

:)Allied Telesyn Ethernet card,10Mb LAN

Shouldn't be a problem.

:): T3 connection to news provider (UUnet)

:)384k to New York Net

Could be a major problem if your link is heavily
utilized.

:)I think that's the same unless they've updated lately,
:)except that nntp you compiled for us was not the latest one at
:)ftp.academ.com

I didn't compile anything for you. I sent you sources
when Terry asked me to give you a quick hand since you
seemed to be floundering. What I found was a completely
misconfigured system. When I told you that you'd need
someone to spend a day cleaning things up and that you'd
need to pay for that, I never heard from you again.

I hope the info from this thread helps you to clean
things up a bit.

Chris
