If you don't have an S3 801, don't get this release, because it was compiled with the stock gcc. If you do have an S3 801, give it a try because it is faster than a 924. The projected xstones rating on 486/50 is 60k xstones, compared with 48k xstones for an S3 924 card. XS3-0.3-exp will work with S3' chipset 911, 924, and 801. Since I don't have an 805 and I wish I did, I can't say that it will work with an 805. The S3 805 differs from the S3 801 in that it has 32 bit wide data paths for EISA or Local Bus systems. It should be fun to find out how fast is this chip on Local Bus or EISA system. If you have problems with XS3-0.3-exp running with an S3 801 card let me know. XS3-0.3-exp was tested with Actix's GraphicEngine32 an S3 801 based card. Bugs fixed: A minor color map restoration is fixed with XS3-0.3-exp. -------- XS3-0.3-exp is at: sunvis.rtpnc.epa.gov:/pub/386bsd/incoming. If you are interested in acquiring an Actix card, Actix's telephone number is: 408-986-1625. Happy Thanks Giving, Amancio Hasty
