It complains (under the shell) that it can't find it's libraries, libX11.so.6.0 and libXext.so.6.0. From what I understand (and what seems logical) is that these are both part of X. I got a response or two to my post but no one was able to give me a copy of the libraries. My machine is too minimal to handle an install of X nor can I really take the time to go through the gzips of X for the libs.... I've cc'd the address listed in the 'bugs' section of the man page because I think it might be a good idea for a slight change in ytalk's behavior on startup. What would be ideal would be to have it check the display variable and if X is detected, try to connect to the X Server. *OTHERWISE* not bother looking for the X related libraries. As it is now, it always looks for the libs even under a shell. I linked the libraries it complained about to liby.so.2.0 just so it would have a file to access to see if it actually needed them under the shell (I don't have X installed). Everything works fine. I'm sure it would crash horribly under X but as I said, X is not an issue. I think a better check on startup would make ytalk a little more flexible.... Just my 2c...thanks for listening!! -Dave -- ~|~|_ _ | _ _ _| _ |` /~`|_ _ _ _ | | |(/_ |_(_)| (_| (_)~|~ \_,| |(_((_)_\ Ever been to the Realm of Chaos?
