But at work, my employer has a LAN with private IP-addresses and I am yet to succeed makeing the FreeBSD box with ethernet card and modem a router -- modem and card have totally different IP-addresses. =is the script that gets executed when the ip connection is lost. In my =case, it shuts down any existing connection and then forces a redial. You do not really need to shut down your existing connections -- if you get the same IP adress every time you redial most of your connections would just resume working (like pulling and returning the ethernet plug back). -mi -- "Windows for dummies"
