I cannot seem to get the modem to auto-answer. I'm using a hayes-compatible internal 2400 bps modem, and the autoanswering works all right in DOS, but it doesn't work in 386bsd. I have installed a getty in my /etc/ttys on the modem port, and I didn't see anything that was hayes-specific in the gettytab file. The entry is com01 /usr/libexec/getty std.2400 vt100 on secure I tried echoing ATS0=1 and ATA over to the com01 port, this didn't help. There seems to be an issue about unix generally not being able to detect DTR and maybe that is the problem. Those of you that have it working please let me know if I'm going to have to set dip switches. :( I also should mention that I'm using the singleport com driver (fast-com. tar.Z) from Chris Demetriou presently. -- David Fox (bbs.barfeau@tsoft.sf-bay.org)
