Always track down the domain names used in the headers. Often there is a domain name that looks like a dialup port name and if you tell the admins at that site they can solve the problem. Other domain names in the message might be forged. Also read through the entire message looking for the spammer's real email address or website URL. I just got a provider in UTAH to cancel the web account of a company that was offering bulk mail spamming services by tracking this down. But remember, be polite. The admins are rarely the culprits and do not need you breathing down their necks. If it is an outrageous spam don't even bother replying because by the time you do the admin mailbox is full and the account is cancelled already, especially AOL accounts. However, when I see something blatantly illegal I do forward a copy to the FBI. -- Michael Dillon - ISP & Internet Consulting Memra Software Inc. - Fax: +1-604-546-3049 http://www.memra.com - E-mail: michael@memra.com
