On this machine I am running 2.1.5. Now I have some questions regarding the cd-rom: * At first I couldn't boot the machine without having a cd-rom in the drive, it would probe the drive and then say: ahc0:A:5: refuses WIDE negotiation. Using 8bit transfers after which it would hang. If however I had a cdrom in the drive it would happily continue saying: (ahc0:5:0): "NEC CD-ROM DRIVE:462 1.14" type 5 removable SCSI 2 cd0(ahc0:5:0): CD-ROM cd present.[268501 x 2048 byte records] Ok, so I turned of wide negotiation in the BIOS setup - then it worked even without a cd inserted. (Is this the right thing to do? The driver can figure it out with the cd in so I guess it should be able go on without it as well?) * I have a problem playing audio cd's. Using cdcontrol I was able to play an audio cd with the Play command with no arguments or time arguments. If I try to give track/index arguments the driver will say: cd0(ahc0:5:0): ILLEGAL REQUEST asc:24,0 Invalid field in CDB Anybody knows whats wrong? thanks in advance! -- Sebastian Strollo Computer Science Laboratory Phone: +46 8 719 9519 Ericsson Telecom AB Fax : +46 8 719 8988 S-126 25 Stockholm, SWEDEN email: seb@erix.ericsson.se
