(gefunden in d.c.t.) Thanks for your response, the IDE question aside for the moment (this is not meant to be a production system I'm just testing on this one to make sure I can do it). I have not been able to configure ccd to use any preexisting filesystems. If you know of the steps required I would greatly appreciate you posting them to this newsgroup as I'm sure others could benefit from this info as well. BTW from you last comment where you mention having to create a new filesystem on the virtual disk, this is exactly the problem I am having in configuring ccd. I thibk the problem is that I don't understand ccd's process well enough and there really is no good clear documentation on the subject. Thanks for any help. Eli
