Midi interface? Message-ID: <26NOV199213183941@stars.gsfc.nasa.gov> News-Software: VAX/VMS VNEWS 1.4-b1 Sender: usenet@nsisrv.gsfc.nasa.gov (Usenet) Nntp-Posting-Host: stars.gsfc.nasa.gov Reply-To: dc@cobi.gsfc.nasa.gov Organization: NASA/GSFC-Laboratory for Astronomy and Solar Physics Date: Thu, 26 Nov 1992 17:18:00 GMT Lines: 17 A while ago I asked about drivers for the Soundblaster or any MIDI interface for 386bsd, linux, or minix. And here's the summary o' responses: 1) Soundblaster: there's a Linux driver, available at nic.funet.fi (pub/OS/Linux/xtra/snd-kit) and tsx-11.mit.edu (pub/linux/ALPHA/sound). Josh Osborne (stripes@pix.com) said he had patches to get this thing to work with 386BSD. 2) MIDI: the above driver for SB handles Midi output, but no input. I also got a note from gary@minster.york.ac.uk that he has a linux driver for the Roland MPU401 Midi interface, which apparently has not been posted or archived, so if you want it, you'll have to ask him nicely. - Dave Cottingham dc@cobi.gsfc.nasa.gov
