As well, there's two great X based debuggers that work as a front end
for gdb (three counting xxgdb) I don't know if anyone's done a port of
ups to BSDI, otherwise you could look at ddd. DDD, however, requires
motif, though there are static linked versions for many OS's.

UPS should be in the contrib directory of any X archive. DDD is from
Germany and has a web page, but I don't have the URL. (try Alta-Vista)
