I need some help getting 386BSD running correctly.

My hardware is as follows:

  386 + 387 @ 20 MHz
no-name Asian motherboard with C&T chipset
  8 MB RAM
  Adaptec 1542B SCSI/floppy controller + Maxtor LXT-340S + 5 1/4" + 3 1/2"
  multi-port I/O card (2 serial, 1 parallel, 1 unrecognizable 15-pin)
EverView "PerfectView" Super VGA (Tseng 4000)
  Novell NE/2000 Ethernet controller
  Logitech mouse controller

Installing from the floppy and subsequently booting from the hard disk
yields:

  pc0<color> at 0x60 irq 1 on isa
  com1 at 0x3f8 irq 4 on isa
com2 fifo at 0x2f8 irq 3 on isa
  fd0 drives 0: 1.2M, 1: 1.44M at 0x3f0 irq 6 drq 2 on isa
  as0 at 0x330 irq 11 drq 5 on isa
ne0 ethernet address XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX at 0x300 irq 9 on isa
  npx0 at 0xf0 irq 13 on isa
  changing root device to as0a
  as0: attached tgt 0 <MAXTOR LXT-340S 6.57> winchester disk
  [...]

(where `XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX' is the right address).

Weird stuff:

NE/2000 is currently set to 0x300, IRQ *4*; at IRQ 2 it conflicts with
the 3 1/2" disk drive. Otherwise, setting it to IRQ 2 yields the same
  results as above.

The Ethernet controller does not work.

I have tried a Western Digital 8013 (Elite16) controller, and it also
  shows up as `irq 9', at any setting (2, 4, 5, or 7). It doesn't work.

Both Ethernet cards work fine under DOG.

The one piece of equipment I don't have a manual for is the Adaptec.

Questions:

How do I get my Ethernet controller(s) to work?

Does this require futzing with the Adaptec? (If so, I need to know exact
  jumper settings.)

If you need any more info, just ask.
