I suggest sending your message to Jordan H directly as it doesn't seem that any FreeBSD network gurus are answering questions here any more. One thing you might try is to connect to your ISP with another PPP machine, find out the address of the gateway router then plug this IP address into the defaultrouter line in sysconfig. Other than that I think we need to get connected via ppp on the FreeBSD machine in question and then execute a route add default y.y.y.y but I can't get the correct syntax.
