OK, I, too, am somewhat ignorant of this process under FreeBSD.

Am I correct that one would first format the diskette with
fdformat?

Should I then be able to mount it as described above?

I just tried that and here's what mount said:

PC% !43
sudo mount -rw /dev/fd0 /floppy
/dev/fd0 on /floppy: Incorrect super block.
PC% 

Must I put a Unix file system on the diskette to be able to mount
it?  My recollection is that Suns would mount diskettes with either
Unix file systems or DOS formatted ones.

What am I doing wrong?
