I've installed a FreeBSD system from the 2.1.5 CD. (Why didn't I do this years ago?). I have installed SAMBA, which has been working very nicely. We then needed to reconfigure my sustem (change IP address etc, etc etc). Now I have smbclient working well, but when I start nmbd and smbd I cannot browse the shares on the system, or indeed connect to them. I start the daemons with the commands: # # Startup the SAMBA daemons # /usr/local/samba/bin/smbd -D -s /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf -l /var/log/smbd.log -d 3 /usr/local/samba/bin/nmbd -D -I 194.6.125.67 -G Acucobol -n roadrunner -l /var/log/nmbd -d 3 # # End of Startup the SAMBA daemons # What actually happens is that the server "roadrunner" appears in the browse list of the windows (client) machine, but if you click on it to browse resources or try to connect to a share by typing its name then there is a long pause and then the client reports "The network is busy". I can't see any friendly "This is what went wrong, stupid" type messages in the logs. I've checked through the docs, maybe I'm missing something? If anyone can help with this I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks Nigel -- Nigel Eaton (nigele@acucobol.com) "The Mome Rath hasn't been born that could out-grabe me" Turnpike evaluation.
