Here is my current configuration: -rwx------ 1 bin bin 45056 Sep 1 19:03 popper drwxrwxr-x 2 root wheel 512 Oct 29 02:22 mail popper will work under this configuration. But if the /var/mail is not group writable,pop user will receive messages 'can't create temporary file'.
