Okay, for people who are willing to get their hands dirty, I have put a boot floppy, a GENERIC kernel, and some instructions at ftp://ftp.cs.indiana.edu/pub/chiuk/FreeBSD/ The code base is 2.1.5-RELEASE, but the driver is from -STABLE. It seems to be working fine for me, but of course your mileage may vary.
