Date: 27 Nov 1992 21:48:02 GMT Organization: MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab Lines: 21 Distribution: world Message-ID: <1f652iINNai2@life.ai.mit.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: hal.gnu.ai.mit.edu I have a HP Vectra 486 on which I would like to run 386BSD. "Out of the box," this does not work. When I boot the Tiny 386BSD kernel off the hard disk, it just hangs. FYI, hardware: HP Vectra 486, 25 MHz HP Vectra internal tape drive HP Super VGA HP ThinLan Ethernet controller HP Mouse 8 MB RAM, 320MB ESDI disk Given that I can boot off the floppy, my first suspicion is that the bootstrap code simply doesn't work for ESDI drives. -- \ / Charles Hannum, mycroft@ai.mit.edu /\ \ PGP public key available on request.
