Date: 1 Nov 1996 18:52:15 +0500 Organization: Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Lines: 24 Message-ID: <55cvaf$hfn@chenab.lums.edu.pk> NNTP-Posting-Host: chenab.lums.edu.pk I compiled Vikas Aggarwal's nocol package utility "etherload" on FreeBSD 2.1 using the BSDI config. With -DBSDI, etherload uses the bpf packet filter. Prior to this, I rebuilt the kernel with pseudo-device bpfilter 4 #Berkeley packet filter and MAKEDEV'd bpf0-3 in /dev. When I run etherload, here is what I get: % ./etherload -d /dev/bpf0 debug: Checking for devices: /dev/bpf0 etherload: BIOCSETIF: Device not configured Questions? 1. How does etherload work with FreeBSD? Is there anything that needs to be done to the ethernet card? 2. Do other NOCOL utilities work with FreeBSD? Any patches needed to get them to compile and link under FreeBSD? -- Sohail Aslam Department of Computer Science, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Lahore, Pakistan tel: 92-42-572-2670 fax: 92-42-572-2591 email: aslam@lums.edu.pk
