Crypt. Patches. Keywords: SCSI tape drive crypt patches Message-ID: <84431@ut-emx.uucp> Date: 27 Nov 92 23:54:13 GMT References: <BxM1qt.2xC@unx.sas.com> <1992Nov13.063445.21862@athena.mit.edu> Sender: news@ut-emx.uucp Organization: The University of Texas at Austin, Austin TX Lines: 18 Where can I get any files or patches which will make my SCSI tape drive work? I heard ref.tfs.com had them, I could not find them there. My mail to there bounced. Also, this may sound stupid, but where are the patches? I don't remember seeing them on agate.bberkeley.edu, perhaps they are there anyway. There are some patches which I should -not- apply? I saw a list re that topic earlier. Please put it in the README where the patches are. Thanks. Also, what is the big to-do about crypt? Does the current version of 386BSD not encrypt the passwords when it stores them? That sounds far too braiin damaged for a useful Unix machine. I thought crypt() was freely available by FTP... Maybe I'm wrong. Do I need to modify my libraries to use a proper crypt? -- Protect our endangered bandwidth - reply by email. NO BIG SIGS! VaX#n8 vax@ccwf.utexas.edu - finger for more info if you even care.
