TRITON TRITON II 430HX TRITON III 430VX Intel does not make this disctinction because they don't want end users being selective about which hardware they get. While it's true that the "TRITON III" name is one that was not assigned by Intel *everyone* other than Intel uses the name to refer to the VX chipset. Typically, the VX chipset is undesirable. It is useful if you are placing your video memory on your motherboard, and want to sacrifice an I/O cycle to regular memory to get high bandwidth to what is, effectively, a write-only frame buffer. This is probably useful if you are running games on a system without a real OS (for instance, if you are using DOS). If this is your intended usage, you'd probably be better served buying a Nintendo Ultra 64. They are cheaper and faster game consoles than the majority of Intel boxes.
