This is actually BS. Eudora uses ports 25 (SMTP), 110 (pop3), and 106 (poppasswd) [this last conflicts with 3com-tsmux, but no one uses them any more]. It is trivial to set up a block of addresses for use by dialin, and then to use ipfirewall or some other software to block access on ports other than the ones used for email services. Potentially, depending on your Eudora settings, you will also want to unblock DNS access (which does *not* give web access, either!).
