Just curious, is there any reason to use a second slice for it?  Your
first slice had enough partitions free...

Curious again, why are you not using the first megabyte at all?

Very simple, but unobvious. :-/  Make the above look:

8 partitions:
#        size   offset    fstype   [fsize bsize bps/cpg]
  c: 24037152        0    unused        0     0       	#

...and it will allow you to use all partitions.
