I just posted this as a followup to a request on comp.windows.x.i386unix, suddenly lots of these monitors seem to be showing up... I'm using a 6500 with XFree on a FreeBSD box. I get best results with the following Modeline: # 1408x1056 @ 70 Hz, 76 kHz hsync Modeline "1408x1056" 135 1408 1544 1672 1784 1056 1057 1059 1090 Add a 'Visual "StaticGray"' line in the 'Screen' section. Resolution is limited by my 2MB graphics card, an ELSA Winner 1000 AVI. The pixelclock is slightly above the monitor's video bandwidth of 120MHz, but the image is perfectly sharp. This setting works without adjusting centering or screen size. Interestingly, when the monitor is cold, the first 50 or so pixels of the first scan line are missing. They appear as the thing warms up. The main specs (from the user's manual) are: H.Scan Frequency: 31.5kHz, 48-55kHz, 64-78kHz V.Scan Frequency: 55-80Hz Video Bandwidth: 120MHz This monitor is a dream. Have fun, Guido -- Guido von Walter . Suddenly Dilbert is sucked mailto:gvw@brainaid.diginet.de . into the "Boss Zone" where http://brainaid.diginet.de/~gvw. time and logic do not apply
