Both of these report no X, so xcd won't compile at all (even if I compile while running X!) and emacs-19.34 won't run under X after it compiles. I have X located in /usr/local/X11R6, and a soft link pointing to that directory at /usr/X11R6. The Makefile for emacs is the default, which says to compile with X support. Why oh why can't the compilation recognize that I *do* have X?? Thanks in advance; as always, an email cc is appreciated. -- Ernest Hymel ehymel@utmb.edu
