Can someone point me in the direction of a FAQ or Howto or document (any format)
of a guideline or explanation on "setting up multiple ethernet cards on a
FreeBSD machine."

I have been struggling with a machine that has an NE2000 and a 3COM 3c509 card
in it. I understand how to make this work in every other UNIX environment (and
this actually works in Linux on the same machine), but I cannot seem to get
FreeBSD (even 2.1.5 GENERIC) to see both cards at boot time.

Thanks,
