Campbell" <ccampbel@sunflash.eng.usf.edu> Newsgroups: comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc Subject: FreeBSD Install Date: 13 Nov 1996 23:02:31 GMT Organization: University of South Florida Lines: 13 Message-ID: <01bbd1b7$ec63bb80$170ff783@rupert> NNTP-Posting-Host: eng_ppp_14.eng.usf.edu X-Newsreader: Microsoft Internet News 4.70.1155 i went through the install process. did a minimal to start with. it appeared to work great. i did nothing to the boot record because i want to boot from a floppy. the install never asked me if i wanted to make a boot floppy. after realizing that the install boot floppy wouldn't boot to freebsd, i started searching all the documents i could on making a boot disk for my new install. couldn't find anything on it at all. so i reinstalled and said put the boot manager in. i rebooted and nothing, still the same. so i gave up. what am i missing? i installed from my primary master to my secondary master. i have three hard drives in this machine. is there a way to install to the secondary master drive and have a boot disk (a floppy) so i don't have to mess with the boot record. please send any advice to e-mail as well as here, my news server sucks.
