I experienced the same thing.  I am going to put up the 1.2 patches I
use to make my ppp connection work.

My problem is the serial port just kind of 'quits'.  I don't know what
the problem is, but the com.c patches I use work great and keep the
thing afloat.

WARNING:  These are the non-Machine Independent patches that only work
with the i386 port.

They will be available on cynjut.neonramp.com as soon as I get them
wrapped up and put out on the server.
