I am having a major problem with DNS and sendmail, from a
local machine, you can send and recieve mail, there is a pop3
server running, and from the lan or dial-up you have no problem
sending or recieving mail if your DNS is set to our server.
So whats the problem right?? you can send mail out, but no
mail comes in!!! if you try to send mail to the site, it bounces
back to sender i don't know what the problem is. When i do an
nslookup of mail.trans-actions.com, you get mail.trans-actions.com
206.124.201.2..great, but when you nslookup from another server
outside of our lan to the same machine you get nothing.. We
switched form linux red hat, to Freebsd recently, and i had
to redo everything, the original linux machine was called
roger.trans-actions.com with the same ip of 206.124.202.2. so i tried
setting the machine up with the same hostname, but i got bad value. to
bypass that i did a :

roger.trans-actions.com IN CNAME secure.trans-actions.com

that works local, but the other nslookups from other servers won't see
the mail.trans-actions.com OR secure.trans-actions.com.

To Further clear this up, i am willing to E-Mail all of the
DNS config files to anyone that thinks they have or can get the
answer, if you find the answer to this i WILL give a REASONABLE
REWARD of your choice, this is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT as ALL of our clients
are unable to get mail right now!!!!!
