Date: Mon, 18 Nov 1996 17:34:35 GMT Organization: Vincent Research Lines: 21 Message-ID: <3290967d.1786281@netnews.hinet.net> NNTP-Posting-Host: 168.95.101.72 X-Newsreader: Forte Free Agent 1.1/32.230 Several days ago, I tried to upgrade my perl from 5.002 to 5.003 version. During the installation, the program told me to give an ID and will test suid security on my BSD box. The result is not secure. If I force to enable suid script function, what security hole will be created? Also, the installer ask me 'does your kernel support suid script?'. Does my freebsd 2.1.5 release kernel support this function? I can't see this option both in GENERIC and LINT config file. ----- Vincent Chen E-mail address: vcba79@ms1.hinet.net Taipei,Taiwan R.O.C.
