I was the original poster for this. My problem was that I was already
running the NAS server "auvoxware" which blocked RealAudio from the
devices it needed. Killing off "auvoxware" allowed RealAudio to work
just fine. I needed a "viewer" for wav, au, and snd files to replace
NAS.

I am now using "rplay" as a replacement for NAS, because it's server is
controlled by "inetd", it will release the audio device so that
RealAudio can work too. I am pretty happy. Some notes:

	1. I had better sound quality with NAS than with rplay
	2. Make sure you turn down the volume on rplay it is LOUD
	   at the default setting (127); I have mine set to 8

I also have "playmidi" working, so I can handle those file now too.

NAS, rplay, and playmidi are all in the ports collection. I got
RealAudio from http://www.realaudio.com/

Now, anyone have any "ShockWave" or "Cresendo" solutions for FreeBSD?
:-}
