I followed all instructions, but when I try to start XFree86 (with the xdm -nodameon command from root) all I get is some "snow" on the monitor. If it were a TV picture, I'd say it was horizontal or vertical hold problems, since it isn't I guess I have an Xconfig timing problem. I will try to construct my own Xconfig entries, but if someone out there has done it already or can point me to a more complete database of Xconfig entries, I'd appreciate it. My config: a NEC 3FGX (yes, I tried the NEC entries from the modeDB) and the internal video on an AST Premium II 386 (the video that is included on the motherboard) Thanks for your help. -Alec D.
