The fix was to add some delays to the probe code of the sio driver. Apparently some serial ports are sensitive to timing. The addition of DELAY(1000) after tests 4, 5 and 6 and the info on timing was suggested by Mark VandeWettering <markv@pixar.com> (thanks Mark!) -Feisal -- Feisal Mohammed <feisal@tstt.net.tt> Ph: 1-809-662-2002 x3171 Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, University of the West Indies.
