I am not sure what to blame, the Solaris OS or Apache or Stronghold. Make sure you have the Solaris TCP/IP patches from http://sunsolve1.sun.com/ installed (for even better performance pick up a copy of the recently released Solaris Internet Server Supplement, which tweaks the socket implementation to be much faster providing WWW-type services). For some tips on speeding up apache, check out http://www.isi.edu/lsam/tools/ (some of their patches are supposed to be in the Apache 1.2 beta out early next month). -- ________________________________________________________________________ Alan Coopersmith alanc@godzilla.EECS.Berkeley.EDU University of California, Berkeley or: alanc@CSUA.Berkeley.EDU
