As a start I'm suggesting that the areas be broken up as follows

XFree86
Xview
gcc
manual pages
com drivers
console drivers
shared libraries
libraries i.e. fixing c library etc
kernel: other kernel problems

If you are currently working in any of these area then send me mail
saying what it is you're doing. If there are any other groups I've
missed then let me know.

I think there are two options for co-ordinating effort in each group.
We could use the mud which julian is going to place on ref.tfs.com or we
can set up mailing lists for each group. I think the second option
should be the preferred since access to ref.tfs.com is very slow from
the uk but the mud should be available as an interactive forum as well.

The idea of this list will be that if you're are thinking of working on
something, you can check with the relevant group to see if it's already
been done or if there are other people already working on it. It should
prevent any more duplicated effort. It will also make it easier to
debate the best features etc that should go into any area, hopefully
this would result in one console driver incorporating all the features of
the several now available.
