The fixit diskette is made in the same way as the boot diskette - there is a "fixit.flp" image in the floppies directory of the distribution. It basically contains a reasonably complete set of programs that you can use to manually fix a failed distribution - these binaries aren't anything different from the stuff found in /bin, /usr/bin, /sbin and /usr/sbin on a running system, they just won't fit on the boot floppy, and aren't really needed unless something goes wrong. -- Brian <brian%anorak.coverform.lan@awfulhak.demon.co.uk> <http://www.awfulhak.demon.co.uk/> Don't _EVER_ lose your sense of humour.... .
