It's still mostly hit and miss for displays. Almost any 640x480 display will work, but for laptops with higher resolutions it's really guesswork unless you know someone with it working already. (It works in 800x600 on all the NEC Versas, but I haven't been able to get it to work on the ThinkPads). >* problems using a touchpad as pointer device? >** are touchpads PS/2 or serial mouse compatible? >** if not, are there touchpad drivers? They are similar, and XFree86 supposedly has support for them directly. >* APM problems fixed for FreeBSD now? Not all of them, but I've fixed some of the bigger ones. >* I suspect that PCMCIA cards need a FreeBSD device driver for each >card, like modem, CD, network (other than ze device for IBM's network >card). However, the generic support is a bit weak right now as I haven't spent the necessary time to keep up with the contributors, but it does work on my hardware. :) Nate -- nate@sri.com | Research Engineer, SRI Intl. - Montana Operations nate@trout.mt.sri.com | Loving life in God's country, the great state of work #: (406) 449-7662 | Montana (all the crazies are now in jail 'cept us home #: (406) 443-7063 | natives). - Fly fishing fanatic!
