I was able to upgrade to sendmail 8.8.3 with BSDI 2.0 w/ patches, in spite
of the warnings in the sendmail documentation that 'm4' doesn't work with
the generic sendmail source.

It turns out this is a warning for BSDI 1.0 and 1.1 systems. We had no
problem using generic sendmail source with our existing .m4 and
sendmail.cf files.

Thanks to the person who emailed me this tip!
