I think the easiest quick/dirty way to do this would be to pick up one of
the many DMM's available now which have a RS232 interface built in.
They're pretty easy to find here in the US, & I think you'd have an even
better selection where you are.

You might find one with a type k thermocouple input already, in which case
you're all set, or you might have to add an out-board temp convertor to
the DMM.

I don't know what software you'd have to write to read it - most here come
with software for MS-DOS, but I really doubt that's it's a very
complicated interface.
