What do you mean, screwing up like this?

We are well aware that the 64 bits issues in major apps that require 64 bits
have long been fixed because of 64 bit Unixes out there.

There's not going to be a gradual 32 -> 64 bit OS transition, apart from
the large files bits (which is invisble anyway in source code)

Marco's suggestion of gradual moving toward 64 bits is flawed because
you get to transition twice and in a more painful and messy way.
