I have the following line in /etc/fstab to try to set up my swap space:

/dev/sd2b /swap swap sw 0 0

I am wondering if this is the incorrect format for the swap entry (the man
page wasn't very helpful), or if maybe it is impossible to have swap on a
disk other than the one that the root partition is on. My first disk is one
single partition ( I know this isn't the normal convention! ) and my second
disk has a usr and swap partition.

I am successfully using my second disk's "a" partition. The swap partition
is the "b" partition (on my second disk) and is labeled "swap" and shows up
in edlabel, but I have encountered problems ranging from "device not
configured" messages to the machine booting in single user mode.

I was wondering if someone could provide me with an example fstab entry for
swapping, or otherwise enlighten me. Thanks in advance!
