I cannot understand why you and others are bashing Casper for giving his invaluable Solaris wisdom here to this group. You may disagree in some of the directions Sun has taken, or you may have other preferences than Casper but nevertheless there is not a single reason for stating Casper ``can't be trusted to have a clue''. In many cases, Casper gave hints which were just contrary to the ``official'' direction of Sun. He saved me, for example, to waste my time with NIS+ by giving an excellent overview about the technical reasons why NIS+ was not well designed. Later, Sun was able to learn that NIS is still required and to be supported for Solaris -- now you will find full NIS support on each new Solaris CD set. Please let us remember that these are technical groups here and neither alt.flame.casper nor alt.flame.solaris. > >I give up. Like I said, you folks suffer from inpenetrable NIH. Hopefully! I'm tired of such non-technical comments.
