Is there any way to make : : pppd dial on demand? : Nope - not currently. I've never had such problems with iijppp - are you : sure you havn't got a low CD timeout and a noisy line? Not sure of that, but the symptom we're seeing with ijppp is TR dropping BEFORE any signs of retraining or such. Still appear to have carrier when TR drops. Also, the symptom appears consistently on outgoing FTP but never on incoming. : Have a look at : your modem manual around S8 (on a USR). Set your CD timeout to a couple : of seconds and see if things get better. We'll try that (grasping at any straw in a storm), but based on the above data, I really don't think that's the solution for what we're seeing.
