I have tried to install the Xfree86 binaries on my system in which I have a Diamond Speedstar 24x card. I don't know the clock values as they are not listed. I can get the card to come up in 640x480 mode just fine, however I have to play with the clock values to get it to come up in 1024x768, but the picture is anything but stable. It is as if the pixel is trying to be drawn is several places in the horizontal axis at once. THe screen looks like it is "streaking" to the right. I can only guess that the clock values are the source of the problem, but Diamond computers told me something like their clock values are programmable. I really don't feel like having to download the server sources and recompile the thing to get it to work. The server tells me that I am running a pvga1 chipset with the clock values of 25 28 78 0 26 29 0 0. The monitor is an AOC CM735 17" monitor. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -- +-----------------[Paul Martin @ eniac on the SAN here at UC]-----------------+ | Internet: pmartin@eniac.san.uc.edu | "Yes I am serious, | | | and don't call me Shirley" | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
