Well, sure. This comes as a surprise? Casper Dik as established his
credentials on the net; he was actively claiming that people should switch to
Solaris 2 long before 2.5 was available. At some point you just have to give
up; recognize that there are some people who just can't be trusted to have a
clue --- or to be able to realize (and admit) that they've made a mistake.

Now there's no grounds for saying "you folks" here; Casper Dik is his own
special force on the net. Sun hired him, and I can see why; he's more
technical than most of the marketing bozos who were willing to publicly claim
that Solaris 2 was a Good Thing:-). But that doesn't mean he represents the
pinnacle of Sun Microsystems' engineering understanding. Just look at the
deliberately broken things in Solaris 2.[0-4] that were fixed in 2.5, despite
the fact that Solaris 2 spokespersons had been claiming that it was better to
have these things broken and they'd _never_ get fixed. Some people in Sun are
actually able to admit they are wrong in the most public way. Just not the
marketing division --- or Casper.
